New to Dancing? Start Here.

No experience. No partner. No pressure.
Just a fun, welcoming way to try something new.

If you’ve never danced before (or think you have two left feet), you’re exactly who we’re for. Most of our students walk in feeling nervous… and leave wondering why they didn’t start sooner.

At Simply Ballroom, you don’t need: experience, a partner, or “natural rhythm.” You just need to show up.

Step 1: Pick Your First Class

Start with one of our beginner-friendly group classes. These are designed for absolute beginners, so you won’t feel behind.

Need some help choosing? Our beginner line dance classes are popular. Beginner Swing and Beginner Salsa are also a great place to start.

If our 8-week class session has already started, you won’t be able to register, but you are welcome to drop into any class at any time for $20 per person to try it out.

Step 2: Just Show Up

We’ll guide you through everything. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance.

BUT we have a FAQ section, for those of you who still have questions…

  • We're at 3323 Mainway Drive, Burlington, ON L7M 1A6. We have a beautiful ballroom space perfect for learning and practicing your dance moves!

  • Phone/Text: (905) 592-3435
    Email: simplyballroom.ca@gmail.com

  • Wear something comfortable to move in and that you don't mind sweating in. The studio is air-conditioned in summer, but it can get warm when the floor is busy! Comfortable shoes that allow you to move and turn easily work best.

  • We recommend our "Absolute Beginner" classes (like Tuesday's Line Dance) or any Level 1 classes. Our instructors are patient and experienced at working with dancers of all skill levels, including total newcomers!

  • Absolutely not! Many of our students come solo and we help facilitate partner rotations during class. You'll meet plenty of dance partners in our friendly community.

  • Yes! Private lessons are perfect if you want personalized attention, need a flexible schedule, or are preparing for something special like a wedding. Contact us to book your session.

  • Yes! We offer an online membership for $4.49/month that gives you access to our growing library of instructional videos. You can practice at home, review tricky steps, or learn at your own pace. Access your account directly through simplyballroom.ca - no app download needed!

  • Absolutely! Our supportive instructors and friendly community members are always there to help you feel comfortable and confident. Come solo or bring someone special!

Step 3: Have Fun & Meet People

You’ll learn the basics, rotate partners (if you’d like), and be part of a friendly, social environment.

Step 4: Come Back Next Week

This is where the magic happens—confidence builds quickly when you stay consistent.

What Your First Class Is Like

Walking into something new can feel intimidating—we get it. Here’s what actually happens:

  • You’ll be welcomed when you arrive

  • We start with simple, easy-to-follow steps

  • Everyone is learning—no one expects perfection

  • We keep things light, social, and fun

  • You’ll leave knowing more than when you walked in

Most people are surprised by how comfortable it feels after just one class.

Not Ready for a Class Yet?

That’s totally okay.

You can start at home with our Online Membership, where you’ll learn at your own pace and build confidence before stepping into the studio.
